African Leaders have betrayed the Continent…

LAMENTATIONS OF PAA KWESI PLANGE, GHANAIAN INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALIST AND AUTHOR……In his book ‘LETTERS TO THE REPUBLIC’

“The truth is that most leaders in Africa have betrayed their continent…. while their domestic political skills seem good, they remain ignorant of the international system, or manipulate outside powers to suit selfish interests”.

Paa Kwesi Plange opens his book ‘Letters to the Republic’ with this quote.

‘Letters to the Republic is a selection of carefully researched and written articles spanning over 20 years of Paa Kwesi’s Journalism Career in Ghana and abroad.

The Book provides an insight into the writer’s perspectives within the Ghana and Africa Socio Economic and Political Space.

This book can be described as some sort of a repertoire containing issues and matters on corruption, conquest politics, State capture, Elite Mentality, Impunity, Parochialism and unbridled partisanship.

The writer tackles these rather contentious issues and vexed matters and attempts critical analyses of the issues, while proffering some solutions.

Paa Kwesi Plange touches on the ‘Role of the Media in Ghanaian and African Politics’, stressing the Media’s social contract as its legal basis for the legal framework that defines its role and responsibilities under the Ghanaian constitution.

The Writer’s approach to his discourse is divided into forty-two well researched and written articles and chapters and attempts a critique of the issues mentioned.

The author discusses leadership and how it can bring about, in the writer’s own words

“Real change to Ghana and the continent.”

No doubt a must Read
