Remembering Agu, The Little Boy In “Beasts of No Nation”

Abraham Nii Attah (Born July 2nd,2001) to Mr. and Mrs. Attah in his hometown, Greater Accra region of
Ghana. He is currently living in the United State of America, where he’s studying and pursuing his acting
career at the same time, during his holiday he would mostly be on film sets shooting movies
Abraham Attah comes from a lower-class family in the Ga-Dangme ethnic group in Accra, Ghana. His
father works at ports while his mother works as a trader in the market. He obtained his first school
leaving certificate from a primary school in Accra, Ghana. He graduated from high school at 18 years old.
At the moment, he is undergoing an undergraduate degree program at Tufts University in the United
States of America.
Abraham Attah’s acting career was discovered by casting director Harrison Delbit. He made his feature
debut in the film Beasts of No Nation (2015) in the leading role of Agu, as a child soldier during the
Sierra Leone Civil War, and acted alongside top British actor Idris Elba. The movie was Netflix’s first
original movie, and it was adapted from the novel written by Nigerian-American author Uzodinma
Iweala. He won the Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2015.

Abraham Attah appeared in the Marvel Studios film Spider-Man in the year 2017. He was made an
Ambassador for the Free Education Policy in Ghana after he supported the policy with a picture
endorsement. He was awarded the Marcello Mastroianni Award for Best Young Actor at the 72nd
Venice International Film Festival.
In the year 2020, He was featured in the movie Title Tasmania Devil, he played the role of Dayo Ayodele
and the movie was shot in Houston, Texas.
