Many Nigerians are in celebration mode all over the county over the recently concluded presidential election which returned the ruling party’s candidate Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the 27th president elect of the most populous black nation in the world
Mr Tinubu defeated 17 other presidential candidates to victory having scored a total of 8,794,726 votes, the highest of all the candidates, thus meeting the first constitutional requirement to be declared the winner. as stated in the electoral constitution.
According to INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, who announced the final results in the early hours of Wednesday in Abuja, said Atiku Abubakar of the PDP scored a total of 6,984,520 to come second in the election.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party came a close third in the election with a total of 6,101,533 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the NNPP came a distant fourth with a total of 1,496,687 votes.
Tinubu also secured over 25 per cent of the votes cast in 30 states, more than the 24 states required by the constitution.
The keenly contested election saw many unexpected turns of event for many highly respected political analyst and pollsters. In their usual gaffes many highly placed men of God saw their prophecies as directed by God failing glaringly to tally with the voice of reason and reality.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party was highly tipped as the likely winner of the election by 70% of pollsters locally and internationally.
Many pastors claimed to have had direct voice of angels and divine revelation from God that Peter Obi is the annointed One chosen by God to win the election and occupy Aso Villa, the seat of power in the Federal Capital Territory,Abuja.
Infact it became a national kind of crusade for some, as pastors, clerics and Bishops fell over themselves to endorse him as purpotedly directed by the Most High God. Many clerics turned their pulpit to Obi-Datti campaign units with threat, curses and eternal damnation to anybody that votes another candidate rather than the God sanctioned candidature of the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi.
Though with all clarity, the Christains through their various church endorsements played a significant role in the general votes garnered by Peter Obi not because they know he can perform better than other candidates but primarily because their pastors brainwashed them to that level of blind faith on his candidature. A rare occurrence in the history of presidential elections in that country especially in the southern regions and the pre dominantly Christain states in northern part of the country. The outcome nakedly exposed the gullibility and brainwashed situation of an average Nigerian’s mentality towards their religion and their religious leaders. A rare occurrence in the history of presidential election in that country.
Most political observers and concerned citizens outrightly condemned this new campaign pattern introduced into the body polity of the country by Obi and those clergy men As they feared it might be a dangerous political precedent in other coming elections as Muslim too could decide to following such line of campaign by taking it to the mosques as well.
The outcome of the election which crowned Tinubu really made a mess of so called posters and the reality of fake prophecies by Nigerian Christian clerics and Africa at large.
The church as a body and the clerics as individuals have made themselves infallible even more than the known Pope in the face and mind of their sheepish congregants who take any words that comes from their mouths as biblical and divine.
Though one or two Christain clerics prophesied victory for the PDP candidate, claiming God revealed to them while another one claimed God showed him clearly that Tinubu of the APC will be the president but for only one term of 4 years.
Another brazenly proclaimed from the pulpit that God revealed to him that election will not hold at all in 2023 as anticipated. Asking his congregants and the public to keep his prophecy, that if it doesn’t come to pass then God has not called him. The man went as far as promising to revert to idol worshipping because his prophecy is as directed by God himself and not coming to pass shows that God has not called him.
A Review of Some of those Endorsements and prophecies by the So Called Men Of God..
1 General Overseer of Christ Embassy Church, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome has revealed what an angel told him about the leading candidates.
OYAKHILOME who spoke at the Loveworld praise-athon on Friday said the name of Nigeria’s next president is in the Bible.
The cleric said the first candidate is under the influence of a devil.
He went further to condemn and castigate the two main contenders from PDP and APC as direct by the “Holy Spirit'” the election according to his claim….
”The Lord gave him a name. The name is Jackal. He is influenced by a demon. This demon is mocking Nigeria. But he’s been cut off by the Holy Spirit.
He further stated that if the second candidate wins, he will sell the country, ” In the spirit, the second candidate, if you let him get into office, you will have no country. You would have sold your country.”
He, however, added that the third candidate is scared of winning.
”The third candidate, there’s fear of winning. He is afraid to win. But the lord will give him wings to fly! HIS NAME IS IN THE BIBLE. Hope you’ve gotten your PVC?” he asked.
2. APOSTLE JOHNSON SULEIMAN Founder of Omega Fire Ministries(OMF) Apostle Johnson Suleman, on Sunday, February 19, 2023, declared that he and his family would be casting their vote for the standard-bearer of the Labour Party , Suleman announced that his household are “Obidient”. And they shall obey the voice of God as directed by the Holy Spirit.
3. PASTOR PAUL ENECHE, The founder and General Overseer of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Pastor Paul Enenche, does not mince words when it comes to his support for Peter Obi. During his sermon on Sunday, February 19, Enenche urged Nigerians to avoid candidates and the political party that brought Nigeria to its present predicament. In a viral video sighted on Monday, February 20, the pastor, while faulting the Muslim-Muslim ticket of the All Progressives Congress, said: “We are left with only one viable, credible, reasonable, reliable option left. That is the third major aspirant you know. Vote value, credibility and simplicity.”
4. Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere The General Overseer of the Omega Power Ministry (OPM), Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, has been vocal over his support for Peter Obi. In August 2022, the cleric described Obi as Moses sent by God to rescue Nigeria.
5. Pastor Odumeje Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, the founder of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry, Onitsha, is one of the pastors supporting Obi. The pastor revealed his undaunted support for the Labour Party’s presidential candidate in a post. In a video he shared on Monday, February 20, on his Facebook page and sighted , Odumeje advised his congregants to vote for Peter Obi and urged them to desist from voting another candidate lest the wrath of God comes upon them.
So many other clergy men went beyond the numbers to show their preference for Peter Obi claiming divine instructions from God. Some went as far as threatening their members with curses, exterminations and even flogging for voting for another rather rather than a Christian candidate Peter Obi, who happened to be the only Christian among the three major frontrunners.
With the conclusion of the election against the pastor that said it will not hold and the victory of Bola Ahmed Tinubu which has made their various prophecies mere spiritual ramblings of con men in spiritual costume, one is forced to ask; have the teeming believers of these biblical actors learnt their lessons?, would they follow their conscience rather than the glaring personal interest of their various “gods of men ‘marauding as true Men of God?
A country rated as the world’s capital of poverty but boast of TopTen Richest pastor in Africa and among the list of top ten richest pastors in the world yet poverty stare then right in the face.
They contribute through tithes and offerings almost every other day of the week while the money generated from jobless members are used to purchase functioning factories to turn onto churches that generate incomes for the personal use of Founder/General Overseers
Hardly will one find less than five churches in every streets across the country. With almost 18 hours of one program or the other from the church, yet 70% of their members are jobless, singles, poor and dejected.
Pastors in Nigeria alone have more private jets than all pastors in Africa put together. They control houses scattered across the globe. It leaves one wondering of such gullibility where millions of poor people use their hard earned money to make very few sugar coated fraudsters in religious gad richer than necessary. This is a country that parades most educated scientist, economists, accountants and what have in Africa yet they are control by a few smart men hiding under the cloak of religion to fleece both the educated, half educated and non educated in pursuit of their own personal and selfish interest. Abandoning salvation for prosperity. Driving many to crime in pursuit of sudden and unexpected breakthroughs.
This is the reality of Nigeria, a reflection of religious control over common sense in the whole of Africa, that has continuously set us far back from the rest of the world.
Indians paid less emphasis on the religion, mode of dressings, culture and food of the colonisers bit adhered to the technology, while Nigeria and most other African countries took everything including religion from their coloniser to the next level but threw away their coloniser’s technology. The difference is conspicuously clear between India and the African countries.
