The Black Star International Film Festival (BSIFF) is fast becoming the most significant Film/Movie industry business driven event on the African Continent and contributing immensely to bridging the gap between Africa Cinema and the World.
Black Star International Film Festival among its main objectives and vision is to sensitize Africa and International audiences to the authentic Arts of Africa Cinema/Film, promoting the business of Film in Africa through innovative forms, while presenting high quality Film productions by African and International Film makers for the African and International Film space.
BSIFF is made up of 4 major project components.
The BSIFF EDU, which is the Film development and education component of the Organisation.
BSIFF through its BSIFF EDU Project is committed to inspiring a generation of young African Film makers and to provide an International Standard in terms of Film Education, particularly to the emerging and aspiring Young Film making and Music Talents on the African Continent.
The other three major components are the Film Festival itself, the Black Star Music Concert and the BSIFF Award and Closing Night.
BSIFF yearly Film Festival activities culminates into a 5-day Film Festival, and this year’s event is scheduled from September 19-24 2023 in Accra Ghana. This year’s Festival like all other previous Festivals is dedicated to the celebration of the works of independent Film and Music Artistes drawn from the continent and other parts of the world.
To further foster a culture of an authentic dialogue in the Cinema industry in Africa, BSIFF’s ‘INDUSTRY DAY’ brings together stakeholders in the African Film and Cinema industry, for an insightful discourse on issues such as Industry development and interventions, the role of government in policy interventions and actions, mapping out expected outcomes for the Film sector and the economy and also addressing and identifying gaps within the industry.
